HILTON BRIGHTON METROPOLE

BRIGHTON, UK

The opening of the original Hotel Metropole in 1890, at that time the largest and most prestigious hotel outside London, heralded the beginning of a golden era for Brighton. Atellior was tasked with the design and soft refurbishment of the 320 rooms and public spaces in accordance with Hilton’s brand guidelines. The design concept for the Hilton Brighton Metropole has successfully created a modern and spacious interior while paying homage to the cultural heritage of this important and well-loved local landmark.

The Metropole is a major conference and exhibition centre, comprising several large halls, all carefully conceived as multi-purpose event spaces. Inspiration for the design of the conference halls was taken from the hotel’s Clarence Suite, (once the venue of Britain’s first licensed casino) and the only part of the hotel to have retained its original name over the years.
