The Atellior team was appointed to design the public area interiors of the first branded apart-hotel in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina for South Eastern Europe Investment Company (SEIC).

The design addresses the Marriott Residence Inn Brand Standards and includes reception, bar, breakfast restaurant and the living room. The living room is a Marriott concept that incorporates comfortable seating, mood lighting, large 50” TV screens, walls with bookshelves and locally inspired decorations, and includes an internal floor-to-ceiling green wall.

The colour scheme was inspired by locally available walnut and combines rich hues of browns and mustard tones, inspired by the autumn leaves in the rich forests that surround Sarajevo. All upholstered furniture was made locally with the country’s leading joinery craftsmen. Privacy is created using copper metal beads, strategically positioned between reception, bar and restaurant. The contemporary architecture of the building is reflected within smoky mirrors. Tom Dixon and Lee Broom lighting adds a dash of luxury and a signature British style that the client requested.

Marriott Residence Inn opened its doors to the first guests in November 2014, quite poignantly the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With staff trained to Marriott International standards the apart-hotel is set to significantly raise hospitality offering in Sarajevo.
